Bobbeeta Sharma - Bidexot Apun Manuh

Introduced as a child artiste in eminent film maker Dr Bhabendranath Saikia's national award winning film Anirban in 1978, Bobbeeta Sharma, actress, director and producer is a prominent cultural personality of Assam. Bidexot Apun Manuh her iconic travel series on Assamese NRI's settled abroad telecast on DDK Guwahati (2001-2008) has won her great appreciation in Assam. She has directed prominent biographical films like Women of Substance - Mamoni Roisom Goswami (DDK, NE,2004) Jnanada-Reflections of Light and Shade on veteran actress Jnanada Kakati (Special Jury Mention, JIFF, Jaipur 2023), A Light that Refuses to Fade- Aruna Mukherjee (official entry IDSFFK, Kerala). Her latest documentary is Bhupenda Uncut on legendary singer-musical maestro Bharat Ratna late Dr Bhupen Hazarika. She served as Chairperson, Assam State Film Finance & Development Corporation (2005-2016) & is author of the book The Moving Image and Assamese Culture-Joymoti, Jyotiprasad Agarwala and Assamese Cinema (OUP)
